I had not really planned on taking a trip this time of year, and yet I found myself packing rather hurriedly. This trip was going to be unpleasant and I knew in advance that no real good would come of it. I’m talking about my annual "Guilt Trip."
I got tickets to fly there on Wish I Had airlines. It was an extremely short flight. I got my baggage, which I could not check. I chose to carry it myself all the way. It was weighted down with a thousand memories of what might have been. No one greeted me as I entered the terminal to the Regret City International Airport. I say international because people from all over the world come to this dismal town.

As I checked into the Last Resort Hotel, I noticed that they would be hosting the year’s most important event, the Annual Pity Party. I wasn’t going to miss that great social occasion. Many of the towns leading citizens would be there.
First, there would be the Done family, you know, Should Have, Would Have and Could Have. Then came the I Had family. You probably know ol’ Wish and his clan. Of course, the Opportunities would be present, Missed and Lost. The biggest family would be the Yesterday’s. There are far too many of them to count, but each one would have a very sad story to share.
Then Shattered Dreams would surely make and appearance. And It’s Their Fault would regale us with stories (excuses) about how things had failed in his life, and each story would be loudly applauded by Don’t Blame Me and I Couldn’t Help It.
Well, to make a long story short, I went to this depressing party knowing that there would be no real benefit in doing so. And, as usual, I became very depressed. But as I thought about all of the stories of failures brought back from the past, it occurred to me that all of this trip and subsequent "pity party" could be cancelled by ME! I started to truly realize that I did not have to be there. I didn’t have to be depressed. One thing kept going through my mind, I CAN’T CHANGE YESTERDAY, BUT I DO HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE TODAY A WONDERFUL DAY. I can be happy, joyous, fulfilled, encouraged, as well as encouraging. Knowing this, I left the City of Regret immediately and left no forwarding address. Am I sorry for mistakes I’ve made in the past? YES! But there is no physical way to undo them.
So, if you’re planning a trip back to the City of Regret, please cancel all your reservations now. Instead, take a trip to a place called, Starting Again. I liked it so much that I have now taken up permanent residence there. My neighbors, the I Forgive Myself and the New Starts are so very helpful. By the way, you don’t have to carry around heavy baggage, because the load is lifted from your shoulders upon arrival. God bless you in finding this great town. If you can find it — it’s in own heart — please look me up. I live on I Can Do It street.

800 inmates from the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center impressed Michael Jackson’s choreographer Travis Payne, as they interpreted in dance the late King of Pop’s hit song “They Don’t Care About Us.”

Payne was spellbound by the inmates work ethic, practicing the steps for two straight days, resting only for meals.

“They are prisoners but they are also dancers,” said Payne who had also worked with Madonna and Lady Gaga in the past.

Sony Music, Michael’s record label said the footage may end up as part of the “This Is It” concert on DVD which will soon be launched worldwide.

It wasn’t the first time that inmates of the CPDRC danced to an MJ song. Two years ago, they took on his signature song, “Thriller,” which became a viral hit on the Internet, garnering millions of visits on YouTube.

Payne said that Michael himself saw that performance. “He loved it. It took him a minute to register what it was [but when it did], he laughed and he got so excited, was so touched by it,” said he.

The choreographer added that oftentimes during breaks while they were rehearsing for Michael’s final concert, “This Is It,” Michael and the rest of the crew would repeatedly watch the Cebu dancing inmates’ video of “Thriller.”

Travis himself came to Cebu to oversee the rehearsals for “They Don’t Care About Us.” Two of Michael’s dancers, whom the singer personally picked for “This Is It” from hundreds of auditioners, even danced with the inmates.

“Michael was like a brother to us. When we thank him for giving us the opportunity to dance with him onstage, he’d say, ‘No, God bless you. Thank YOU for being here.’ That [the humility] was what’s beautiful about Michael,” said one of the dancers.

The Filipina beauty continues to make waves in the modelling world, as a 17 year old finished among the top finalists in the prestigious Supermodel search in Brazil.

Charlene Louise “Chat” Alagon Almarvez took home first runner-up honors in the 2010 Supermodel of the World search held in Sao Paulo Brazil.

The 5?9? stunner also received the biggest paycheck of her life, a US$150,000 modeling contract from Ford Models NYC.

This year’s Supermodel winner is Karlina of Latvia (Baltics). The runners-up in the following order are Charlene (Philippines), Isabelle (Sweden), Olivia (USA), Maryna (Belarus), Grace (Australia) and Bruna (Brazil).

Chat is the third Filipina to land in the Top 5 of the competition, following Melanie Marquez who also finished first runner-up in 1986 and Charo Ronquillo, second runner-up in 2006.

Chat is a Business Administration freshman at the De La Salle College of Saint Benilde. She was discovered during a Santacruzan in Laguna, and with just a couple of months experience in modeling, tried her luck and won the Supermodel Philippines search during the Philippine Fashion Week in October in 2009.

The Philippines stature as global trading nation rose in 2009. In the latest World Bank logistics survey that measures how efficiently countries trade their goods around the world, now ranks the country 44th and considered one of the over performers.

Germany emerged on top and Singapore second while Sweden was adjudged the next most trade-friendly nation in the study hailed by the Washington-based institution as “the most comprehensive world survey of international freight forwarders and express carriers.”

“Economic competitiveness is relentlessly driving countries to strengthen performance, and improving trade logistics is a smart way to deliver more efficiencies, lower costs and added economic growth,” said bank chief Robert Zoellick.

High income economies dominated the top logistics rankings, with most of them occupying important places in global and regional supply chains, the 155-nation “Logistics Performance Indicators” study showed.

By contrast, the 10 worst performing countries were all from the low and lower income groups.

“Although the study shows a substantial logistics gap between rich countries and most developing countries, it finds positive trends in some areas essential to logistics performance and trade,” the World Bank said.

“Some of them include the modernization of customs, use of information technology, and development of private logistics services,” it said in a statement.

Aside from the Philippines, other most significant “over-performers” among developing countries are China, which emerged 27th in ranking, India (47), Uganda (66), Vietnam (53), Thailand (35), and South Africa (28).

Ms. Regine Velasquez, who once played Darna in a movie (Captain Barbell played by Sen. Bong Revilla), expressed excitement in taking the role of an antagonist to the primetime heroine, “Darna”. And it would be a different experience indeed because her character belongs to the “evil side!”

Actually, natutuwa ako for Regine to play more comedic roles, she’s really a versatile actress. She is really a comedian in real life, nakasama ko na siya several times (sa taping, sa elevator, sa presscon even sa gay beauty pageant, yes, gay beauty pageant at siya ang may pakana nun!).

I like her character in Darna (the comedy part, not the evil part huh!!!) , it’s more natural, walang effort (siyang siya in real life), more power and kudos to the Asia’s song bird…Ms. Regine Velasquez, a good and kind hearted woman.

A fairy tale story of a kingdom in the clouds called Paladino. This magical realm is headed by the noble King Adorno (Emilio Garcia) and his beautiful wife Queen Lamara (Carmina Villaruel) with their three children Prinsesa Saraya, (Bubbles Paraiso) Prinsipe Javino I , and Prinsipe Almiro (Aljur Abrenica).

The life in Paladino is suddenly threatened when Prince Javino went missing. His disappearance is orchestrated by the most powerful and wicked black Diwani named Alwana (Princess Punzalan). Diwanis are the powerful wizards in the kingdom.

Using her black magic and sorcery, Alwana pushes Prince Javino towards the magic mirror, transporting him to the earthly world. She wants him to fall in love with a mortal so she could claim the throne and take over Paladino.

But, an unexpected tragedy shatters the mirror and Prince Javino is permanently trapped on earth. The entire kingdom is devastated by news that the Prince is dead. There is instant confusion and disarray in Paladino.

This incident changes the life of the mischievous Prince Almiro. King Adorno immediately declares him successor to the throne, the next king of Paladino.

But, Prince Almiro is not yet ready to become a king. So the head Diwani, Rizayo (Benjie Paras), suggests he gets married. All the maidens in the kingdom were called so Prince Almiro could choose his lucky bride.

Once of those who came is Bawana (Bianca King), the daughter of Alwana. Because of her hideous face, Alwana uses her magic to make Bawana look beautiful. But Prince Almiro discovers their deception and he sends her away.

Bawana is enraged so she puts a curse on Prince Almiro. His face becomes distorted and only true love could break the curse.

So Prince Almiro, together with his three loyal allies Rosata (Chanda Romero), Onuro (Kiko Magundayao), Anexi (Paolo Ballesteros), sets off to the mortal world to fulfill his mission. But Bawana gives him only three chances to find his woman.

By means of Bawana’s curse, they were trapped in a magical mansion and once inside, Prince Almiro’s warped face disappears but once outside, his cursed face is revealed.

On his third and final attempt, Prince Almiro meets Lara (Kris Bernal). Despite his horrible face, the kind-hearted and simple Lara falls in love with him.

Can Lara’s kiss finally break Bawana’s curse on Prince Almiro?

It turns out that Prince Javino is still alive and suffers from the new spell of Bawana. Can the two brothers destroy the evil Alwana and her daughter Bawana? Will Prince Almiro give up the throne for his love Lara? Will the peace and order return in the Kingdom of Paladino?

The Last Prince is directed by Mac Alejandre. The script is written by seasoned head writer RJ Nuevas. The set is designed by Richard Somes, fresh from his winning MMFF’s Best Festival Production in “Ang Panday.” Roy Red is the production designer. The fabulous costumes were made by fashion designers Jerome Ang, who represented the Philippines in various international fashion design competitions and Aries Lagat, the grand winner in Project Runway Philippines Season 1.

The Last Prince premieres tonight, January 11, after Darna on GMA-7.

GOOFS: Aljur’s brown contact lenses (while surfing through the clouds, there are scenes where he’s wearing them and in the same scenes he’s not wearing them).

A woman decides to have a facelift for her 50th birthday.
She spends $15,000 and feels pretty good about the results.
On her way home, she stops at a newsstand to buy a newspaper.

Before leaving, she says to the clerk, ‘I hope you
don’t mind my asking, but how old do you think I am
‘About 32,’ is the reply.’
‘Nope! I’m exactly 50,’ the woman says happily.

A little while later she goes into McDonald’s and
asks the counter girl the very same question.
The girl replies, ‘I’d guess about 29.’
The woman replies with a big smile, ‘Nope, I’m 50.’

Now she’s feeling really good about herself. She
stops in a drug store on her way down the street.
She goes up to the counter to get some mints and asks the
clerk this burning question.
The clerk responds, ‘Oh, I’d say 30.’
Again she proudly responds, ‘I’m 50, but thank you!’

While waiting for the bus to go home, she asks an old man
waiting next to her the same question.
He replies, ‘Lady, I’m 78 and my eyesight is
going. Although, when I was young there was a sure-fire way
to tell how old a woman was. It sounds very forward, but it requires

You to let me put my hands under your bra.
Then, and only then can I tell you EXACTLY how old you are.’

They wait in silence on the empty street until her
curiosity gets the best of her. She finally blurts out, ‘What the hell,

go ahead.’

He slips both of his hands under her blouse and begins to
feel around very slowly and carefully. He bounces and weighs

each breast and he gently pinches each nipple.
He pushes her breasts together and rubs them against each
Other.

After a couple of minutes of this, she says, ‘Okay,
okay…..How old am I?’
He completes one last squeeze of her breasts, removes his
hands, and says, ‘Madam, you are 50.’

Stunned and amazed, the woman says, ‘That was
incredible, how could you tell?’

The old man says, ‘Promise you won’t get mad?’

‘I promise I won’t’ she says.

‘I was behind you at McDonalds.’
