Leaving the City of Regret

Posted on January 30th, 2010 by I am Timi

I had not really planned on taking a trip this time of year, and yet I found myself packing rather hurriedly. This trip was going to be unpleasant and I knew in advance that no real good would come of it. I’m talking about my annual "Guilt Trip."
I got tickets to fly there on Wish I Had airlines. It was an extremely short flight. I got my baggage, which I could not check. I chose to carry it myself all the way. It was weighted down with a thousand memories of what might have been. No one greeted me as I entered the terminal to the Regret City International Airport. I say international because people from all over the world come to this dismal town.

800 inmates from the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center impressed Michael Jackson’s choreographer Travis Payne, as they interpreted in dance the late King of Pop’s hit song “They Don’t Care About Us.”

Payne was spellbound by the inmates work ethic, practicing the steps for two straight days, resting only for meals.

“They are prisoners but they are also dancers,” said Payne who had also worked with Madonna and Lady Gaga in the past.

Number 10
Life is sexually transmitted.

Number  9
Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die.

Number 8
Men have two emotions: Hungry and Horny.
If you see him without an erection, make him a sandwich.

Number  7
Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day.
By teaching a person to use the Internet and join facebook,
they will not likely bother you again.

Number 6
Some people are like a Slinky — not really good for anything.
But, you still can’t help but smile when you shove them down the stairs.

Number  5
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals, dying of nothing.

Number 4
All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

Number 3
Why does a "slight" tax increase cost you $200.00, and a "substantial" tax cut
saves you $30.00?

Number 2
In the 60’s, people took acid to make the world weird.
Now the world is weird, and people take Prozac to make it  normal.

The Philippines stature as global trading nation rose in 2009. In the latest World Bank logistics survey that measures how efficiently countries trade their goods around the world, now ranks the country 44th and considered one of the over performers.

Germany emerged on top and Singapore second while Sweden was adjudged the next most trade-friendly nation in the study hailed by the Washington-based institution as “the most comprehensive world survey of international freight forwarders and express carriers.”

“Economic competitiveness is relentlessly driving countries to strengthen performance, and improving trade logistics is a smart way to deliver more efficiencies, lower costs and added economic growth,” said bank chief Robert Zoellick.

Regine Velasquez being Elektra on Darna

Posted on January 12th, 2010 by I am Timi

regine v. as elektra

Ms. Regine Velasquez, who once played Darna in a movie (Captain Barbell played by Sen. Bong Revilla), expressed excitement in taking the role of an antagonist to the primetime heroine, “Darna”. And it would be a different experience indeed because her character belongs to the “evil side!”

Actually, natutuwa ako for Regine to play more comedic roles, she’s really a versatile actress. She is really a comedian in real life, nakasama ko na siya  several times (sa taping, sa elevator, sa presscon even sa gay beauty pageant, yes, gay beauty pageant at siya ang may pakana nun!).

I like her character in Darna (the comedy part, not the evil part huh!!!) , it’s more natural, walang effort (siyang siya in real life), more power and kudos to the Asia’s song bird…Ms. Regine Velasquez, a good and kind hearted woman.

Facelift

Posted on January 10th, 2010 by I am Timi

A woman decides to have a facelift for her 50th birthday.
She spends $15,000 and feels pretty good about the results.
On her way home, she stops at a newsstand to buy a newspaper.

Before leaving, she says to the clerk, ‘I hope you
don’t mind my asking, but how old do you think I am
‘About 32,’ is the reply.’
‘Nope! I’m exactly 50,’ the woman says happily.

A little while later she goes into McDonald’s and
asks the counter girl the very same question.
The girl replies, ‘I’d guess about 29.’
The woman replies with a big smile, ‘Nope, I’m 50.’

Now she’s feeling really good about herself. She
stops in a drug store on her way down the street.
She goes up to the counter to get some mints and asks the
clerk this burning question.
The clerk responds, ‘Oh, I’d say 30.’
Again she proudly responds, ‘I’m 50, but thank you!’
